Guide to Thinking about Therapy

New year, new beginnings. For many, this is a good time to embark on a new therapy journey.

We know that starting therapy can be a complicated decision. For most people, it’s something they ponder for quite some time before moving forward. We understand that there are often barriers to getting started and each person will find the “right” time for them. In this month’s collection, we try to answer some of the questions that might be on your mind in an effort to reduce some of the barriers.

While we hope that better times are just around the corner, we need to recognize that we are carrying much emotional baggage from the past two years (and likely lots prior to that as well) around with us and we need to brace ourselves for what may be ahead. If you’re not working with a therapist already, this may be an excellent time to get started.

“Courage doesn’t happen when you have all the answers. It happens when you are ready to face the questions you have been avoiding your whole life.”

- Shannon Alder
