What is an integrated approach to health care?
An integrated approach means several things. Integrated health incorporates different healing modalities which address body, mind and spirit. It may focus on one piece of the puzzle at a time but considers the person as a whole. Integrated health also means being involved with all domains that someone identifies as important to them to find balance. For example, you are feeling really stressed juggling work, family while struggling to meet deadlines. You are slowly burning out. What is the single best therapeutic approach for you? There really is no single best. You likely benefit most from using an integrated approach to healing. You may choose to speak to a psychotherapist to help you cope and feel more competent (mind, spirit). You will most definitely benefit from a therapeutic massage (body). You may attend a weekly yoga session to help you become more mindful and present (spirit, mind). You can make diet changes to give your body the right nutrients to bounce back (body). Integrated health considers each individuals' uniqueness. While one person may prefer therapies that address mind, another may benefit more from therapies that address body, and so forth.
What services does everwell offer?
We are a team of professionals offering an integrated approach to health and healing. Our services include psychotherapy/counselling, massage therapy, nutrition and yoga. At everwell, we strongly believe in supporting healthy relationships, families, communities, and individuals. We strive to do this by building partnerships with our clients that are open, respectful, energized and purposeful. We specifically offer Psychotherapy and Counselling for individuals, couples, children, youth and parents. We offer Massage Therapy for individuals and couples, as well as Cupping Therapy and Indie Head Massage. Our team also includes a Holistic Nutritionist who offers nutritional assessment and coaching as well as a yoga instructor who offers weekly drop-in yoga and individual yoga classes.
What are the areas of practice at everwell?
Our practitioners' areas of practice are many including grief and loss, parenting, coping with illness, life transitions, addiction, co-dependency, survivors of abuse and trauma, behavioural issues in toddlers, mood disorders, stress, anxiety disorders, family coaching, women's health, spiritual health, trauma-sensitive restorative yoga, holistic lifestyle coaching, among others. How do our practitioners promote well-being in their clients?
Every practitioner has a personal approach to therapy and brings with them a unique set of skills and experience. Let’s start with a quick glance at the unique approaches of some of our psychotherapists and counsellors. Carly, for example, helps people develop insight into their emotional lives. This can be truly transformative as we often move through life without recognizing the attitudes, beliefs and behaviours that may be limiting us. Rob works to dissolve limitations that people carry around with them, sometimes years at a time. Eliminating the stuff that hinders our emotional well-being is life-changing. Ishtar supports women who are victims of emotional abuse and helps them to rebuild their lives. Carrie works with parents, youth and children and helps them develop a better sense of self.
